Special thanks to the Sierra Club, Angeles Chapter, for their contribution to the 'save the golf course' effort. We also extend our appreciation to all of the residents and other members of our communities who continue to pitch in, whether it be with their time or their wallets. The help is greatly needed and any donation helps with the expenses of defending the Verdugo Hills Golf Course.
Public Comment Period ends August 19
Be sure to submit your comments regarding the Draft Environmental Impact Report [DEIR] to David Somers, Project Coordinator, no later than August 19. Visit the EIR web page for mailing address information and links to the DEIR.
It is important to share your view of the proposed project and the DEIR. Your comments matter. Let the City of Los Angeles know how the proposed 229 unit housing development would impact the land as well as the people who live here.
Your comments do not need to be long, but they should be submitted. You're welcome to download a copy of the comment form that was handed out at the Town Hall Meeting.

A number of candidates have already indicated a desire to learn more about the Verdugo Hills Golf Course and the proposed 229 unit housing development which threatens to close the course. We look forward to talking with all of the candidates regarding this recreational and environmentally-rich community asset.
Thank you, Assemblymember Paul Krekorian, for sending us a copy of the comments you submitted to David Somers. The assemblymember went on record in 2007 in support of the community's efforts to save the Verdugo Hills Golf Course. Thank you for the continuing support.
It's been a busy week for the Verdugo Hills Golf Course. Three newspaper articles were published the first part of the week. Tuesday's "Community unites to save golf course from development", written for the Daily News by Tony Castro, brought a record number of visitors to the VHGC website.
By late morning KCAL Channel 9 and KABC had lined up interviews at the golf course. To view the articles or watch the television interviews visit In the Media, on the 'Save the Golf Course' website. Or you can click the title of the interviews listed below. The links will take you directly to the web page.
Remember to mark your calendars! Joselito's West, has reserved August 31st, as 'Save the Golf Course' Monday. The restaurant is open from 11am until 10pm, leaving ample time for you to enjoy a fine fiesta of a meal. Joselito's West will donate a portion of your receipt to help with legal and consultant fees for the golf course.
Thank you for your continuing support for the Verdugo Hills Golf Course.
