VHGC Supporters:

This Saturday, October 24, is the Verdugo Hills 4Kids 4Ever Golf Tournament. Sponsored by the Verdugo Hills Mens Club, the tournament is a fundraiser benefiting local youth golf programs and efforts to preserve the VHGC for future golfers. Proceeds from the tournament go to the Verdugo Hills Youth Golf Program and the Crescenta Valley High School Girls' Golf Team, as well as organizations working to save the Verdugo Hills Golf Course.

If you haven't already registered for the tournament, it's not too late. You can sign up Saturday morning beginning at 7:30am. Tournament play starts at 9am. For additional information download the Flyer/Registration form. If you have any other questions please email the Verdugo HIlls Mens Club at  vhillmensclub@aol.com

Thank you to all the folks who have been pitching in to help with the tournament preparations. In particular we thank Momentous Insurance Brokerage Inc. for their corporate donation.

HELP SPREAD THE WORD!

As noted on the EIR web page, once the Final Environmental Impact Report [FEIR] is released it will be essential that our communities and other supporters of the VHGC hit the ground running.

Emails, like the one you are reading now, offer the best way for us to keep everyone apprised of the latest developments. Please invite at least one friend or neighbor to join our mailing list. The more the better. We only send email blasts as needed, we do not share your email address with others, and you can unsubscribe at any time by using the link at the bottom of our emails.

CD2 RUN-OFF ELECTION:

Chris Essel and Paul Krekorian have both accepted invitations to attend the Sunland-Tujunga Candidates Forum on Saturday, November 7. Like the Candidates Forum held in July, this this is an opportunity for voters to learn more about the candidates campaigning to represent the constitutents of Los Angeles City Council District #2.

Candidates Forum - Saturday, November 7
Meet & Greet: Noon-1pm;  Forum: 1pm
North Valley City Hall
7747 Foothill Blvd., Tujunga, 91042

Earlier this month Chris Essel attended a Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council Land Use Committee Meeting. Paul Krekorian is scheduled to attend the next Land Use Committee meeting, on Monday, November 9. The meeting begins at 7pm. The LUC meetings provide both candidates an opportunity to learn about a variety of land use issues facing Sunland-Tujunga. The meeting will be held at the North Valley City Hall. See above for the address.

The Glendale-Crescenta VOICE does not endorse or work on behalf of any candidate running for political office. However, we encourage registered voters to be informed and to participate in the run-off election on Tuesday, December 8. Your vote is your voice.

HAVE FUNDRAISING IDEAS?

As we've mentioned in the past, preserving the character and recreation of the Verdugo Hills Golf Course isn't a free ride. We must continue to raise money to defend the VHGC and to speak out on behalf of the quality of life here in the foothills.

We invite community members and other VHGC supporters to consider sponsoring their own fundraisers on behalf of the golf course. If you belong to an organization or if you and your family or neighbors would like to plan a fundraiser, please email us at gcvoice@gcvoice.org. There's no such thing as 'too small'. Any and all contributions help!

Thank you for your continuing support for the Verdugo Hills Golf Course.
