The historic Verdugo Hills Golf Course has been a priceless recreational
resource in our region for nearly fifty years.
This family-friendly course is one of the most inexpensive in the area and the
perfect course for children to learn to play the game. Moreover, it continues to serve as important open space in the Verdugo
Mountains, as more than half of the 63 acre site is undeveloped hillsides.
But now, a developer wants to put 229 houses on the property, destroy
the golf course forever, and inflict numerous negative impacts on the
community including increased traffic, reduced air quality, loss of
recreation, loss of viewshed, loss of biological resources, as well as
increased impacts on schools.
Working with the Verdugo Hills Golf Course Committee, V.O.I.C.E. is
leading the fight to preserve the golf course as recreational open space.
